Collingwood is in unique Golden Bay, close to Wharariki Beach and Farewell Spit, 120 kms west of Nelson at the top of the South Island.

The route to Collingwood from Nelson follows Highway 60 through Motueka and over "The Hill" to Takaka,27 kms away, a journey of about 2 hours.

In Collingwood turn right into Gibbs Road at the cross roads, the hostel is situated 250 meters on the hill behind the Courthouse Cafe.
